Mons Planus is a Frontline map in Centaura. It is the fifth map of the Southern Corvus War, now part of Antares' Cetan Campaign.
Lore[]
In February of 1912, a new threat emerged from the south: the Antares Imperium. Since Cetus had allocated most of their manpower to the northern front to defend against Corvus, the country's southern border was left vulnerable. The arrival of the Antarean invasion compelled the Cetans to shift their resources southward, effectively halving their defensive capabilities on both fronts. As the Cetans found themselves confronted by two enemy nations with limited numbers, morale among the soldiers began to decline. This battle would end with an Antarean victory.
Gameplay[]
Unlike maps like Capri Valley, there is practically no cover at all on this map especially in the middle area of the map, with only some scattered haybales and craters littered across the field, while Barbed Wire can be found almost everywhere, making it very difficult to launch attacks. A lack of a middle trench further increases the difficulty of breaking through on either side. Artillery is also present in this map, which constantly bombards the middle area at random intervals. The only safe route is to go through either the Cowshed or Barn which provide good cover. However, enemies may also utilise them to advance, and mortarmen will often bombard areas with high traffic. Between Trench A/D and Trench B/C is a forest, with trees that can be used as cover, although they are very thin and can expose you to enemy fire if not positioned correctly behind them.
Unlike Capri Valley and Coastal Battery Q, the Artillery on this map will always target the middle area between Trench B and C. The bombardments are more sporadic compared to the artillery on the previous maps, but will target fixed locations, such as haybales, craters and the outside of the Cowshed and Barn, so avoid camping out in these spots when the bombardment is about to begin.
This map also features a pair of Armored Cars. They spawn at the 5-minute mark, there to help one side break through the stalemate, though they are often picked off by both Artillery and Flame Troopers. By the 25-minute mark, these Armored Cars are replaced by Tanks, which are much bulkier, have more guns and do not stop to shoot at enemies. The Tanks will push to Point B/C, before stopping. By the 35-minute mark, the Tanks will continue to push on to Point A/D to help break the deadlock.

Trivia[]
- Mons Planus is the first Centaura map to feature Antares as part of the Southern Frontier update.
- The Anti-Tank class was added during testing of the map, it was scrapped due to arguments between players.
- The fastest match recorded is now 1 minute 24 seconds, ending in a Cetan victory.
- Mons Planus translates from Latin to Flat Mountain.
- According to AbsoluteDuck, the middle farm of Mons Planus is called PcDonald Ranch, owned by Mike PcDonald.
- Mons Planus had a incident similar to one that happened on Capri Valley, where a match lasted for hours during the first day of Version 2.0.0.
- This was first attempted to be resolved through the implementation of a Sudden Death mechanic, which occurred around the 35-minute mark. It changed the win condition from capturing all trenches to just capturing Trench B/C.
- It was then changed to the current mechanic of Tanks spawning at the 25-minute mark instead.
