Ascendēns Forest is a Frontline map featured in Centaura. It is currently the second map of the Aquilan Campaign.
Lore
After an arduous year of fighting in the southwestern prairies, the Antareans began their march into the heartlands of Aquila. A new plan was devised to combat the dense pine forests that were hindering their advance, infamously known as "The Scorch".
Thousands of acres of forest were deliberately set ablaze by the Antareans with the goal of demoralizing the Aquilan troops. However, this instead caused the Aquilans to fight with renewed determination to defend the land that hadn't been destroyed.
It is now 1913. The fires have destroyed more than ten percent of the Aquilan countryside and are continuing to rage.
Gameplay

Illumination flare lighting up the map.
This map is set during the night, with five trench lines, all interconnected via communication trenches. The topside is heavily guarded by 4 Machine Gun pillboxes on the Aquilan side, and 4 stationary Armored Cars on the Antarean side. They will not shoot at players until a flare is fired periodically; it will light up in the sky, illuminating much of the map. While the flare is active, all MGs gain visibility and will open fire on all infantry found above the trenches within the MG range. Be warned, these MGs have extremely buffed accuracy and range compared to the ones found in other maps, and they will almost certainly kill anyone who is above the trenches in seconds. The range of the bunkers and cars reaches a little past the halfway point of the map, meaning that you are safe above the trenches if you are within your team's half of the map. The majority of the combat thus takes place in the trenches. Either team has to capture all the trenches in order to win, similar to Capri Valley and Mons Planus. It also features a new class, the Sweeper.
The extensive trench system contains many dugouts, bends and corners that can be used as cover, as well as multiple connecting trenches that can be used to flank enemies. Due to the limited space available, this map features many chokepoints that can turn into bloody stalemates. Melee combat is prevalent and extra dangerous on this map, while Flame Troopers and Sweepers can easily wipe out large squads of enemies. Meanwhile, explosives like grenades, dynamite, and tripwire bombs are brutally effective at clearing up strongholds, campers and attackers with their large explosion radiuses.

Antarean Armored cars ceasing fire after the illumination flare dies out.
While the topside is guarded by machine gun fire and barbed wire, it is relatively safe to go above to bypass chokepoints while a flare has not been fired. Owing to the darkness of the map, this strategy can be very effective if used correctly, especially on Antares, as their grey uniforms blend into the darkness, allowing them to sneak up on enemies and kill them from above.

- Ascendēns Forest is the first (and so far only) map in the game to be set at night.
- This map includes fighting in the background, in the form of what is presumably Artillery and Anti-Air guns.
- If you look directly up at the night sky, you will see the constellation of Aquila, glowing brighter than the other stars.
- The effects of "The Scorch" can be seen off on one side of the map as smoke rises and the light of the flames illuminate the dark sky. If you listen carefully you can hear the sounds of flames and combat happening.
- This is the first map in the game to feature the new Sweeper class, equipped with a shotgun and Sabre.
- This is the first map in the game to not have the Grenadier class.
